Francis Walter the younger (Forny Hall, Salop) party to agreement as devisee & an executor.  Refers to various mortgages over a period of more than 30 years including mortgage by Herbert to Thomas Baker (Ombersley, Worcs) 1709, assignment & advance by Samuel Slade (Bewdley, Worcs.) 1712, mortgage of further property to Charles Bowles (Southwark, Surrey) 1710, subsequent assignment of those premises to Slade as additional security. Assignment of those mortgages in 1725 by Catherine Slade, Joanna & John Baker (all Waresley, Hartlebury, Worcs) & Alice & George Nash (Martley, Worcs) [Slade’s widow & daughters] to Richard Knight. 84/253 Frodesley – 1876 – Marriage Settlement between Rev Richard William Gleadowe & Miss Harriett Emily Gleadowe. Refers to Marriage Sett (1838) of Harriett’s parents – Rev Thomas Littlewood Gleadowe (Roughton, Lincs) & Miss Harriett Anderson (Cambridge); Settlement made by Harriett in anticipation of her daughter’s wedding; the beneficiaries of the M S. 12 page parchment booklet – written on 10 sides with some dusting to cover. William Prissick & Robert Lloyd (all of Shrewsbury) are party to the agreement as Trustees for Yardley & Jones, respectively. The Sale relates to a Messuage in Mardol Street and stables in Roushill Lane, Shrewsbury, both occupied by Jane Humphreys, widow [see 259/27, above]. Samuel Yardley was the eldest son of late Nathaniel Thomas Yardley (Saint Chad) and his wife, Elinor; and the grandson of Samuel Yardley (Shrewsbury) by his second wife – Elizabeth, nee Oswell. Gives details of the terms of the 1811 Settlement of the properties upon Trust by Nathaniel Thomas & Elinor Yardley, Nathaniel’s death in 1814 leaving his widow and 3 sons – Samuel, John Yardley & William Yardley, and the 1818 Settlement of the properties upon Trust in favour of Samuel, subject to an annual payment to Elinor. Includes a schedule of Title Deeds commencing with the 1756 Marriage Settlement of Samuel Yardley and Elizabeth Oswell, to which William Oswell (both the elder & younger) were party. 259/30 Shrewsbury – 1819 – Release (second part of Lease / Release for conveyance of property) by Simon Barber to William Jones (both Shrewsbury). William Warner & William Mitton (both Wolverhampton) and Robert Lloyd  & Thomas Lloyd (both Shrewsbury) party to the agreement as Trustees for Barber & Jones, respectively. The transaction relates to the sale of a stable in Roushill Lane, Shrewsbury. Refers to the 1811 acquisition of the stable and other hereditaments by Barber from Margaret & Richard Harries. Includes a schedule of  Title Deeds commencing with the 1734 Settlement probably relating to the Marriage of Richard Morhall and Mary Fletcher, other parties include Mary & Thomas Morhall and Thomas Fletcher (both the elder & younger). The properties subsequently passed into ownership of the Harries Family. Brief reference to William’s Will; former and current occupiers of the properties include Messrs. Richards & Cook, Thomas Badger, George Rowe, William Hill, John Edwards, John Thompson & Samuel Lovett. Large parchment sheet with decorative 1st 2 words, a number of small tears to side edges, not affecting text. Signed / sealed by Thurstan Cook & Joseph Jones  witnessed on reverse by Wm. 259/34 Shrewsbury – 1833 – Lease and Release (2 separate documents, signed on consecutive days, but unusual in this case as they were sewn together to form a single document) for the Sale of a Shop & Warehouse and a number of Dwelling Houses in Mardol & Roushill, Shrewsbury by Joseph Jones to Robert Phillips, Lieutenant General in the Hon. East India Co., Bengal Army. William Cooper & Thomas Du Gard  are party to agreement as Trustees for Jones & Phillips (all of Shrewsbury), respectively. Details given of the location of the properties: one Messuage, the Shop & Warehouse are occupied by Messrs David Richards & Thurstan Cook, under a 20 year Lease. The other 4 Messuages were, or had been occupied by Thomas Badger, George Rowe, William Hill, John Edwards, John Thompson & Samuel Lovett.  A total of 3 parchment sheets, sewn together, both the Lease and the Release have decorative 1st 2 words incorporating Royal Coat of Arms, both are signed / sealed by Joseph Jones & Willm. 259/35 Shrewsbury – 1833 – Document relating to a Shop & Warehouse and various Messuages in Mardol & Roushill, Shrewsbury, purchased by Robert Phillips from Joseph Jones (both Shrewsbury). Various interests in the properties were held upon Trust for the benefit of Jones, and on the instructions of Jones and Phillips, these were transferred to Trustees acting for Phillips. William Hazledine (Shrewsbury) & Thomas Lloyd (Leamington, Warwicks.) – Trustees for Jones, Charles Bowen Teece, Nathaniel Betton & William Hams (all Shrewsbury) – Trustees for Phillips. Details given of the location of the properties: one Messuage, the Shop & Warehouse are occupied by Messrs Richards & Cook, the other Dwellings were, or had been occupied by Thomas Badger, George Rowe, William Hill, John Edwards, John Thompson & Samuel Lovett. Details also given of various Indentures dating back to 1756 relating to previous ownership of the properties, most of which were acquired by late William Jones (the father of Joseph) from Samuel Yardley (eldest son of Elinor & Nathaniel Thomas Yardley who was the son of Samuel). The Yardley family appear to have been connected to the Oswell family, possibly by Marriage. Mention is made of William Oswell & Elizabeth, his daughter & William the younger.
